within the European Union changes. <\/p><h2>EU HS codes: what has changed in 2024?<\/h2><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">The edition of the European customs nomenclature <\/span><b style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">effective January 1, 2024 <\/b><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">involved the creation of 23 new codes and the deletion of 15 others, particularly in the following chapters :<\/span><\/p><div><ul><li>A number of changes have been made to the <strong>edible fruit and vegetables chapter, notably for bananas<\/strong> <strong>(chapter 08<\/strong>) and <strong>tomatoes <\/strong><strong>(chapter 20<\/strong>).<\/li><li>In <strong>Chapter 39, which covers plastics and articles made from them <\/strong>, there are some new features for ethylene polymer waste (3915).<\/li><li><strong>There are insignificant changes in Chapter 50: <\/strong>silk and silk waste, and in <strong>Chapter 56<\/strong>: wadding, felt and non-wovens; special yarns; twine, cordage, rope and cables; articles of rope manufacture.<\/li><li><strong>Chapter 70 <\/strong>: Glass and glassware, <strong>HS4 7019<\/strong> &#8211; Glass fibers is affected by changes.<\/li><li><strong>Chapter 90:<\/strong> Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical and surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof.<ul><li>The changes mainly concern the laser family, other than laser diodes; other optical devices and instruments, not specified or included elsewhere in this chapter.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Chapter 94<\/strong>: furniture; medical and surgical furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated signs, illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings.<ul><li>The changes mainly concern HS4 9401: seats (excluding those of HS4 9402), whether or not convertible into beds, and parts thereof.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section --e-global-color-text );\">A significant number of <\/span><strong style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">creation and closure of TARIC\/10 customs codes<\/strong><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\"> customs codes has been announced and publlished on<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.douane.gouv.fr\/service-en-ligne\/tarif-douanier-communautaire-et-national-rita\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RITA<\/a><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\"> in June 2024.
