FAQs

Frequently asked questions with respect to AOG shipment & aero parts logistics

  1. 1

What does AOG mean when it comes to transport?

AOG (Aircraft On Ground) is extremely expensive for an aviation company (passengers have to be put up in a hotel, replacement planes need to be rented, tickets reimbursed, rotation disturbances, etc.).

Having a responsive partner who can provide reliable solutions, sometimes in emergency circumstances, is a fundamental criterion to ensure the quality of service of an aviation company.

  2. 2

Why choose an AEO-certified shipping company for aviation transport needs?

The "AEO" accreditation (Authorized Economic Operator) is granted by the Customs Authority to companies which satisfy strict customs criteria and demonstrate a continuous level of compliance and reliability with respect to the international logistics chain.

Working with an "AEO-Full" shipping agent means that in shipping your goods you'll benefit from the following advantages:

    • Simplifying your customs operations
    • Physical and records inspections are reduced and adapted to your goods
    • Status recognized throughout the European Union and worldwide

Since 2013 Mathez International Transport has had AEO-Full status, which includes the "simplified customs" AEO certificate and the "safety-security" AEO certificate. When you work with MATHEZ FREIGHT, you can rest assured that all your customs operations throughout the EU and beyond will be handled with precision, reliability, and professionalism, according to the highest standards.

  3. 3

Are you transporting special or dangerous products?

What we normally call "dangerous merchandise" includes products containing substances that present a potential risk for the health and safety of people, infrastructures, and/or their methods of shipment. Compliance with a specific regulation is required to package, handle, and declare them correctly so they can be transported without risk to the cargo plane and its occupants.

Shipping dangerous merchandise is governed by various national and international regulations, in particular the Regulation of the IATA for shipping dangerous merchandise. Freight forwarding and cargo agents, packagers, handlers, and others involved in the preparation and shipment of dangerous merchandise must comply with this regulation and complete regular training to ensure that their shipments are in compliance so that they can be handled quickly and easily by air and sea shipping companies.

The MATHEZ FREIGHT agencies are equipped to handle shipment of your dangerous merchandise by air because they have the required accreditations, as well as trained and authorized personnel.
